Steven McLaughlin Head Instructor for Philly Karate at Maxercise Master in Tae Kwon Do (4th Degree Black Belt)
(Steve has been training Martial Arts for 14 years. Inspired by the Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles & the art itself.)
- Martial arts taught me breathing techniques that help with anger management. Once you begin feeling angry, upset, or stressed, close your eyes and count down from ten with calm breaths.
- Martial Arts strengthens the soul, uplifts the body, mind and spirit, which is all you need in this world. It gives you peace and harmony.
- Body language, especially the hands. If their hands go up to their face, do the same as well to be able to protect yourself. (Hands open, back straight, use relaxing words).
- Whether it's my immediate family or my Maxercise/Philly Karate family, I always know I'm not alone when life gets tough. They keep me focused and no matter what is thrown at me, I know I can overcome it.
